The North Sea Canal Area

The North Sea Canal area (Noordzeekanaalgebied, NZKG) is the port area and industrial part of the larger Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. For years, local governments and businesspartners have been thinking together about the major challenges in the area. In the meantime, the cooperation has expanded and we are looking with the central government at the necessary transitions in the field of energy and making the economy more sustainable. On the initiative of the NZKG Administrative Platform, the NZKG Programme Office is tackling the challenges with the Energy and Regional development programme and is working on strengthening regional cooperation.
